Unhappy Faulty car or faulty fuel???

Hi,

I am new to the forum and new to the world Kia. Took delivery of my brand new Sportage XE Diesel on 30/6/07 in Leighton Buzzard. Went around to the nearest Morrison petrol station to fill up 55 Litres worth of diesel. Had it for one week and clocked up 210 miles with it, the car developed a major problem - lost power intermittently limpping along the road with engine stucked with idle speed. It came back to full rev without warning and dropped back to idle speed without warning.

Had the car towed back to the dealership. The guys in the dealship told me that they drained some "yellow liquid" out of the car - which is neither petrol nor diesel.

My receipt from Morrison stated Diesel I purchased. I contacted Morrison, they insisted that they have received no complain about the diesel fuel from any customer and according to their record it was Diesel supplied to me. Also, they say it would not of any use to run any fuel test from its current supply in the station as couple of delivery took place since my purchase on 30/6.

I am totally at a loss as what had happened to my one week old car... I contacted my insurance people and have them look into it and have the car repaired.

If you come across something similar, particularly, in the close proximaty Leighton Buzzard or Bedfordshire, I would like to hear from you. Equally, if you experience any problem with loss of power with your brand new Kia, I would like to hear from you.

Search the forums for this topic. I think there were several people who had this problem. Seems to me it was the Bosch fuel system that was at fault, or somethig along that line.

The 2006 thread "A Dangerous Occurance, A Near Miss" certainly described my experience somewhat, but no mention of what action/repair took place....
