Default newbie rio crdi with questions

hi to you all...i have only recently became the owner of the rio diesel crdi lx[2005 model] and was wondering if you could help me with a couple of things...
1st one is i only seem to get the distance travelled on my tripmeter and cant get the fuel consumption or the ambient temperature to come up...i've read the manual and all it says is that i just press the button to get the different readings to come up,but tried that and all i get is trip a and trip b,anyone got any ideas?
2nd is it normal for the cd player to skip when going over a bumpy road?it doesn't do it all the time though?
if anyone can help it would be much appreciated..
apart from the above things its a great little car and quite nippy...
thanks in advance

i have now found out that my model of rio does not have the things that i wanted, its only on the newer versions,so its back out with the calculator to work out my m.p.g. also the problem with the sterio is also a common problem with rio and not much can be done about it...apart from that, the car is a dream to drive...
