Angry 07 Sorento- So what SatNav do YOU have ???

Hmph !!! I have just taken delivery of a NEW 07 Sorento XT 2.5Tdi in the UK, Drives well and has loads of power.... now for the slagging match !!! I was back to the dealer within a day, SatNav/Radio unit resets to Dutch and Time Zone GMT +2 and all other setting gone, cannot store address in the Address Book, in other words Factory Rests the damb thing every time I remove the ignition key, Dealer says the unit is faulty and will order a new unit and call me back, its now 8 days later still no call.

Called the dealer, they cant remember my vehicle and swear blind they dont have an outstanding order for a new Radio/SatNav unit ??? Phone Kia "Customer Services" (SIC) they can do nothing about it 'cept put me through to the idiot at the dealer ??? Also Customer Services UK cannot tell what model of SatNav should be installed, another dealer tells me its the DVO Dayton MS4400, however the dealer I took delivery of the vehicle from has fitted a DVO Dayton MS4300 ??? Seems like there are NO standards within KIA UK and very little knowlege of what they are actually selling !!!!

Good old Kia UK, announce a new Customer Service Initiative and fail to deliver !!!! If anyone asked me about buying a Kia I would advise them not to as the service levels are poor and they seem to have little or no initative !!! This is my 1st and LAST KIA I shall ever purchase !!!!

Default Check the wiring

It sounds like the power supplies are incorrectly wired on the set. The most common problem being the permanent and switched feeds are the wrong way around, therefore there is no permanent supply for the memory. Should be a simple check and fix.

That exactlly what I told them when the vehicle was in the shop.

Im still waiting for the dealer to phone me back (been nearly 2 weeks now), KIA UK customer services are also waste of time, no action can be taken by them with regard to the poor service that I recieved from the dealer (Evans Halshaw in Reading). Seems like KIA dealers tell you what you want to hear before you purchase the vehicle, but once you drive out the dealership .... they just aint interested !!!!

Not just Kia. We've had Skodas for 17 years now and had brilliant service not only from the cars but from the dealers, mainly small family run outfits. Skoda killed all the small guys off and now only wants glass palaces, and not many of them.

Last night my wifes Felicia Estate broke down on the M25 150 miles from home. Its done 114,000 fault free miles so no complaints really. It needs a water pump, but apparently Skoda do not have one not only in the UK, but in Europe!!!.

My advice is to deal only with the Dealer principal at Evans Halshaw. That is the only way to get things done, and ring him twice a week to check on progress. Don't wait for them to phone you back. They are not alone in being bad, but the persistant customer gets results..note I did not say the ill-mannered customer, no matter how much you feel like giving them a piece of your mind. At the moment I feel pretty mad myself!!
