Saw this on another forum a few days ago. It was the consensus there that it will probably never come to anything. Have joined anyway on the principal if you don't try you will never know.

It should work if he gets enough members. There are plenty of other fuel cards out there - but mostly just for companies.

Ben (the guy behind pipelinecard) says that in order to make this work on a national basis he needs tens of thousands of members. I gather it's going pretty well so far..
