Question 16 inch wheel and tire combo prob

Hi, this is my first post to start off.

Here is my problem, I have a 2000 Spectra GSX and I have up sized the wheels and tires to 195/50/r16 from a 185/65r14 and now my back tires rub on the inside o the quarter panel.

The question for the problem is this, What are my options for fixing this besides getting different tires and rims cause I just spent that money and am stuck with the tires and wheels?

Thank you for the advice and the opinions. As you can tell, I am new at this and have never really been part of a Kia Community.

you could raise the rear clearance between the tires and the rear quarter panel by

a) stretching the suspension springs and changing your shocks
b) change the suspension springs to one that is a bit longer (and of course, change your shocks
c) you could put on a 'spacer' or something that will put on a little more space to lift the spring higher - imagine something like a big thick washer you put on the rear shock mounts. this way, you still use your old springs and shocks- but you'll also have to change the mounting screws to longer ones to accomodate the spacer.

Ok, thank you. Also, is there any tire shops that you all know of that are selling the springs and struts to the public. Everywhere that I seem to call tells me that they are factory order only.
Again, thank you for the answers.

Your offset is too much. If you didn't know then it's the distance between where the center of the wheel is and the outside lip. I know on my Spectra the offset is +40. I fit 17X7 inch rims with a +42 offset which pushed the wheel out for a little more tract width. I still had almost 3/4 of an inch left till I hit the 1/4 panel. Depending on the rim you can even get a nice lip on your rims if you figure out the offset you can run.

I think you can buy wheel spacers.

wheel spacers move the wheels away from the axle and farther into his fender. He needs to find a rim that has more offset than the rims he has now.
