I'm looking to lower my kia rio 2003 a good deal... I'm getting some 17's on 205/40/17 tires... And I don't want to rub too much, and I want it to sit really low... any links for the best priced lowering springs, I heard intrax springs will lower the car more than eibach.. Thanks

Thats the going price for springs man.... They arent going to be under 200. Ebach will only lower your ride by 1.2"
intrax you can get them in 1.50" and 1.75" drop. h and r springs will drop app. 1.3"

the intrax if you have 17" will rub.

If you wnat a lower ride get coilovers.. will cost more but can drop car from 1"-4" drop.

I was tooling around some other site and saw some devices that actually compressed the existing spring.

Not beign a heavy "modder"... What are those for. I didnt check into it but I assumed it was for shortening the spings.

Basically 2 clamps on each spring that compressed one spiral together.

is this the cheap way to do it or is this something completely different?

curious....

that is the cheap and dangerous way to do it.. dont use spring compressers......... Just pay the money for springs or coilovers if you want to lower it....
