I have a 2002 Kia Sportage. I can go as large as a 215 70R 15 on the stock rims, but I'd like to go larger, since I want to off road in the west next summer. I also pull a very small camping trailer.

I would like to go with wider rims and wider/taller tires, but I don't know how large I can go, and keep them inside the fender well. Protuding out of the fender is not acceptable for me.

Does anyone out there have experience, in this area?

235/75R15 are fine on the standard rims. Very minor rubbing on front sway bar on full compression. May need to trim the bottom, back edge of the front bumper.

Main issue is power of the engine. 31x10.5R15 is about as large as you can go with a manual, maybe another inch with an auto. 31-32's will fit with a springlift and a bit of trimming to the rear of the front guards and the tyre size is limited then by the bodymount under the firewall
