Default special error code

my 2003 spectra's engine light is on, so i gone to autozone and read the code.the code No is P1404,and the difinition is " leak detection module solenoid valve circuit fault" who can explain this message for me ? should i change something ?

replace the egr valve.

It is likely a bad connection or bad heater element in the EVAP system pump - see this picture on KiaTech web site.

The Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) valve has nothing to do with the EVAP system.

The typical location is just below the inlet manifold and the throttle body.

It has a vacuum pipe connected on the actuator, and directs exhaust gas into the inlet manifold near the throttle body - that is if your car has an EGR.

I suggest that you take a look at the 'DTC' section on the KiaTech web site and note that unlike other models and makes, they do not list the EGR for this error code for the Spectra 2003, and you're unlikely to find the EGR for your car on the KiaTech web site, possibly because your car doesn't have one.
