Default Engine swap?

I thinking on doing an engine swap on my 2002 kia spectra Gsx and was thinking on using the 2004.5 and up 2.0L motor and trans anyone know if all i would need to do is minor wiring change ECU to get it to work?? i wan to the get the motor because then i could get the stage 2 turbo kit so i could bring up horsepower to 300. so i can play with the big boys on the rally track.

Youll need to fabricate some mounts, brakets for the mounts. They are not based on each other if that was what you were getting at.

Why not just buy the stage2 kit for your spectra?
And with just a stage 2 youll only go up to about 185 hp not 300 lol.....
Turbo isnt going to increase your power by 110%
its more like 35-40%

LOL Nope. 200 tops. Thats a gain of like 80 hp on a stock motor. Thats even a huge gain for a turbo kit.

There's a guy on cardomain who used the stage two kit I'm pretty sure and got around 300 whp from his Beta engine. He probably isn't using stock internals though.

My lug nuts require more torque than your VTEC makes.

But would adding a turbo not put you into an open class where your competition are mostly all wheel drive?

Have you done anything to the suspension-my '02 GSX is a bit soft and has limited travel. The roads down here in eastern Canada are pretty rough-any advice on struts/shocks would be appreciated.

if your going to do an engine transplant, your better off figuring out how to drop a civic I4 and matching trans in. theres more options for WHP increases and upgrades
