I'm new to these forums but I thought I'd try to see if anyone had any information on this (I did try the search button btw).
So I have a Kia Spectra from 2000 (obviously), and I was looking to invest in a front bumper body kit. I've searched literally dozens of websites that sell parts such as Andy's and I've come up with ZERO results on body kits for this car, probably due to its age. Every site I've checked is either out of stock or does not even sell kits for my car.
Can anyone help me find a front bumper kit for my car? Or at least point me in the right direction? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you!
The 2000 Shuma/Spectra was not a very "popular" model and little was made to customize this basic "get around" car...
The later 2004.5~2009 Spectras were also not a model that custom parts were made for...but the reliability and the body of the car was greatly improved...
The "new" Spectras were finally replaced with the Forte' and some custom body and engine parts have started trickling into the pipeline...
KIA now has a "name" and are known for their quality and designs...
KIA with your model and year was struggling to stay alive and Hyundai pumped big $$$ into KIA and at one point had 51% of KIA's stock offerings....
They now have less ownership (stock) but they do share reliable drive trains between them...
So... I doubt if you will find any "off the shelf" mod kits for your car....Sorry....
Dave
But the thing is, I found body kits off the shelf for my vehicle but they were out of stock. I'm just not sure where to find them now, but I know they exist.
What would be the closest front bumper kit from another car? Maybe I could work on it and reshaped it to attach to my car..
Body parts are usually not interchangeable between different model year runs...
Like dinosaurs...they did exist but like you are finding not any more... and "out of stock" means they will never restock them...
The "Sephia/Shuma" (what your car really is) had very little support unlike a Honda Civic that was made in the millions...
The bumper material (plastic) requires a lot of special skills to modify... Just repairing a damaged one (properly) can be near impossible because the plastic used doesn't like to stick to other material or even itself... I have tried it on most of my rebuilt salvage KIAs and Hyundais with very limited success...and then bought replacements...
Talk to a local body repair man...you will see what I mean...

There are much more Body Kits & Custom Bumpers for the Second Gen Kia Sephia, and those will Bolt Directly to the First gen Spectra with only one Little problem: You also will need to change the Headlamps, because the ones on the Spectra are designed with different angled curve, so using the Sephia headlamps will make those special Bumpers to fit Perfectly on your Spectra.
Thank you so much for that information ^^. I will probably end up doing that. Do the Sephia headlamps fit the KIA Spectra, or is some type of modification required?
Exactly, because basically talking, the Second gen Sephia is the same First gen Spectra, only minor cosmetic changes were done to the Sephia, and renamed Spectra.
Not sure, because it is the Curve on the Headlamps that is Slightly different, but you might Try, maybe I am mistaken and the Sephia Bumper will surround the Spectra Headlamps.
I've seen many first gen Spectras, with front Bumper from second gen Sephias and Vice Versa, here in Honduras, but cars are almost the same; in fact, I fitted a 2003 Spectra engine, on my Wife's 2000 Sephia, using the sephia's intake and exhaust manifolds...

You must be Aware, that the first gen Spectra I'm writing about, is the one whose front bumper Surrounds the front fenders and reaches the wheel's well, like in the second gen Sephia; so in order to be Sure that the Sephia Bumper will fit your Spectra, I kindly suggest you to Share here with us, a couple of Photos of your Spectra, so we can be Sure that your Spectra is that model.
Certain markets obtained a different designed first gen Spectra, which has a front bumper, limited to the mere Front, only; and that model is uncompatible with the Sephia's bumper.
So, before you buy a Bumper, I kindly suggest you to take measurements of your front bumper's Mounts, and go to a Junk Yards, to search for a second gen Sephia, and compare your Spectra's measurements with the Sephia...
I was looking at Second Gen Sephia front bumpers and I don't see how it could fit because my spectra has the two smaller circular lights while the Sephia doesn't..
Thank you for sharing the Photo, and in good time, because your Spectra is the one that doesn't use the same Sephia design on the Bumper, so the second gen Sephia Bumper would Never fit on your Spectra.
In your case, if you want something special, you better contact the Guys at StreetKiaz, they love the custom looking and they know better than I, how / where to source a different bumper / body kit that is especifically for your Spectra.
