Just want to ask some advice. I own a 1997 Pride LX. I felt something wrong sa
underchassis....parang may maluwag na parts kapag dumadaan ka kahit sa mabababaw na lubak and it was getting worst. Lately, parang nararamdaman mo na sa dashboard ung I got it serviced last month(last year) sa Rapide and they replaced the ff.parts: tie rods, bushing, tie rod ends, wheel bearing. after a week, bumalik ulit ung problem. nung ibalik ko sa rapide, ang sabi naman ay ung rack and pinion ko ang papalitan...so I said consult muna ako sa iba...so tanong muna ako sa inyo kung may naka-encounter ng similar problem. did the replacing of rack and pinion solved your problem?

Hey Pare. I will answer you in english as my Tagalog is a little rusty since I came to Canada. Pride's are bad for wearing out axles and CV assemblies. I used to be involved in taxi business sa Iloilo and see it all the time. Also, it really depends on the type of noise, does it happend over bumps or while turning or all the time. I would check to ensure that the front axle assembly is tightly bolted to the chassis, make sure your upper rubber strut boots are not worn out and your struts are making noise. Also, make sure your rack and pinion/steering column etc are also tightly bolted and havent rusted through. Prides don't have the strongest steel in their construction, neither do Rio's. You also may be having a lot of body flex which can loosen things up alot. I don't know if you can get it in Manila these days, but if you get ahold of Hot Wheels Car shop in Iloilo. They will have something called PL-10 grease. This is extreme duty grease and definitely necessary for driving sa Philippines. It will solve a lot of wearing out problems like I mentioned above. If you can give me more info, maybe I can be of more help.
sige na

byron,
The mechanic added lock washersand replaced the bolts that attached the steering column to the Car's body. He did it after we replaced the two front shocks of my LX.thanks for the advice. I read your post right after I had the car fixed.....but no regrets there. the shocks were really worn-out and also decided to change the rear shocks. after changing all the shocks, we test-drove it and the problem was still there. That was when he decided to check all the bolts and found the problem. If I read your reply earlier, we might have spotted the problem easier but as I've said, the shocks were really worn-out so it really had to be replaced.
