Default oil seen on sidings of kia pride engine

Good Day! I was checking on the water resorvoir when I noticed oil around the engine particularly under the starter and just above the clutch. I was kinda wondering if my oil seals in the engine are still ok or is it due to other causes.before I noticed those oil smudges I've been driving the car for miles, reving it up to 2k up and cruising the hi-way at 100-120kph. Would this be the cause? Any help from the forum will be very much appreciated. Thanks and more power to the forum!

Revving the engine to 2000 rpm and driving at 100-120 km/h would certainly do no harm.

It sounds like it could be the flywheel side crankshaft oil seal leaking and it would certainly be best to get it repaired as soon as possible.

thanks ron. yeah maybe it is of utmost consideration because eversince we bought that car, it hasn't had any repairs in that certain part. A friend of mine suggested that I have an engine wash first because of the stubborn dirt accumulated in around the engine and have an oil change and see if ever the leak would sprung out again just to pinpoit the problem...i guess that wouldn't be practical though....thanks again!
