Default Strange behaviour of Fuel & Temp. Guage in Kia Pride 1999

Hi all,

When I switch on the car both needles of Fuel and Temperature Guages show full. In fact the needles pass the max and stay there. When I switch off the engine, the needle slowly goes back. Mind you these needle just do not jump to the extreme, but gradually go max in a couple of minutes.

Can anybody please suggest to me what is the problem and how can I rectify it. Many thanks.

Regards

never have played with a pride but since both gauges are playing up i would suspect the voltage stabiliser since most cars gauges run on a lower voltage to improve accuracy(?)mind you it is possible there isnt one as not all vehicles use them but another possibility is a poor earth or connection in the gauge cluster
