Hi! I bought my 99 Pride GTX with only 18Kkm on the clock from a lady dentist in Taytay who immigrated to Canada a year before. It was garaged and kept sqeaky clean. Its pushing 69K now and it has been a sweet ride so far, except for the tire replacement as soon as I wheeled it out of her garage (tires were out of round from 8 months of storage) wheel bearing replacements all around at about 32K and new tires at 35K.
Does anyone know if sport springs and gas shocks are available for the KIA Pride locally? I am really looking for better handling and spring tuning capablilities....any ideas would be welcome.

Hehehe! Hansel I was referrring to my mileage when I did those repairs....actually the costs were quite reasonable all aroound as I bought my own parts from Banawe and did most of the work myself except pulling the bearing from the hubs!
he he he., my pet is a '97 kia pride., gone more than 300,000 kms., and have not gone any general overhaul (only top overhaul), it still runs 12.5 - 15 kms/li in city driving and at times 20+ kms / li in out of town trips. there was this one time i went covered 15 kms with just 5 liters of unleaded. dunno if it was the constant speed or the aerogas.....how about u? how is ur pride?
also, the our pride(s) have the advantage of being inconspicuous., even to carnappers. i have no problem about leaving my car in cubao in order to take the train to manila. if i had a toyota or a mitsubishi or a honda - i'd have to think it three times over....
My 99 is doing do the same as yours but I'm using E-10 now and paying only 33.43 per liter at the moment. But I'm ready to go the next step and am canvassing an LPG conversion so my gas bill goes down to 21 per liter only! I checked out Auto Gas and Macro but seem to be most impressed with NAIDS a korean brand that carrys a good warranty program. I will reprot as soon as I get the conversion doen and have a few hundred k's on the clock. That should complete my green car project!

also how much does the conversion to lpg cost? ive heard news of lpg tanks exploding....have you heard of this?
Good day to you all.
I have a kia pride lx 94 and i want to upgrade the performance a bit because i'm tired of beating all 13, 14 houndred cc cars and i want to tackkle the big boys, i was wondering if a turbo starlet's turbo could use because i don't want to damage my perfect engine.
it is totally stock right now can any one help me with some advice of parts to buy, i don't want to be confused by sales persons
Hanzel, no my car doesn't have Fuel injection. Actually Shell is deliberately misinforming us when it says it is only applicable to FI cars. The fact is "E-10 Unleaded is a blend of 90% ordinary unleaded gasoline with 10% ethanol—a high-octane, clean-burning fuel made from corn, sugar, jatropa and other grains. Every major car maker in the world approves the use of 10% ethanol blends (E-10 Unleaded) in their engines.
The ethanol in E-10 Unleaded adds two to three points of octane to gasoline—helping improve engine performance while keeping engine parts cleaner. E-10 Unleaded also helps reduce toxic exhaust emissions"
The 2 to 3 points higher octane rating of E-10 solved the "pinging" or combustion detonation caused by the low octane rating of our "93" octane unleaded fuel!
I have been using E-10 since Shell introduced it and my engine is running stronger, cleaner and smoother. Its easier on the pocket too!
On LPG conversions, the most popular offerings are the MACRO, AutoGas and NAIAADS brandnames. Cost is anywhere from 5T++ for a homebrew installation to 15T for a Naiaads korean installation with warranty and regular tuneup service. In this case, I believe you get what you pay for. Some taxi operators are doing the homebrew install on their own fleet but are notorious for leaks, due to inadequate design (ouido lang kasi) with insufficient preventive safety features. No, I haven't heard of any explosions in auto installations, though it is common in home cooking installations, usually due to raptured pressure hoses and close proximity to open flames. The safety record of Auto LPG in Korea, where there is long and extensive use of Auto LPG in public transport and utility fleets, has been excellent and carry no greater risk than carrying gasoline in a tin gas tank under your trunk! Cheers!
