Hi! Bigboygtx! I own a 99 GTX and mine came with the 13" mag wheels with 165-65-13 tires. When they wore out I replaced them with Federal Tire's 165-80-13 which provided a higher sidewall profile that I wanted to help soften the bumpy surface of Ortigas Avenue extension, my daily drive. I am satisfied with the result but have to contend with the tires sometimes rubbing the fender when I dip too suddenly or turn too quickly!

I see that you went to wider and lower profile tires for that racing look! You could lower the suspension a bit if you like but you have to worry about rubbing the fenders too. One modification I think the KIA needs is a brace to tie the front lower arm pivot points together. That i believe should tighten up the steering response and lessen the bump steering due to uneven surfaces. I still haven't found anyone selling this modification in the internet which is why I started this thread! I may have to get it done by a machine shop here in Cainta -- I will tell you about it when I do. Have you tried looking for gas shocks for our Pride?

On the oil, I am already using mobil 1 syn oil with a performance additive from Oberon which some taxi fleets are using to extend the life of their fleet. I secured it from the importer who supplies the taxi garages. I suggest you get the best oil you can and change oil and filter every 5 thousand kilometers, as they do.

My latest mod is an LPG conversion by NAIIADS, which cost P23,000.00. I have been driving on pure LPG for a week now and can say that I am totally elated by the result. I travelled 320 kilometer on 37.94 liters of LPG for a total cost of P812.00!!! I saved 544 pesos on my regular weekly commutes! That seems to say I will recoup my conversion cost in about 42 weeks, if I don't travel more!

Tell me more about your car and have a good day!

Ei Greencar Project - got a look-see at yr LPG installation, very impressive.
I took note that your reducer / vaporizer is installed in the firewall., i installed an aerogas device in that same area and after a year or two, i noticed that the aerogas device was sort of shaky - upon closer inspection of the firewall - the metal actually tore off. since then i have relocated the areogas device and it might do well to reinforce that area before having any weight hanging on it. In my case, I think that firewall wasnt designed to carry that much weight - this might also be the case for yr unit.

Thanks hanzel! i will look at that mounting bracket tomorrow just in case, thank you for the comment. I finally found the gas shocks for the rear suspension, Kayaba Excel G's. They have worked out very well and has improved overall handling very impressively! i haven't found any gas front struts so far though I am told that Kayaba makes a GR2 strut for the Ford Festiva. Will keep looking.....

cheers!
