Kia Driveshaft/cv joint parts, where from?! Pride.1999
Finally some people who may be able to help me with my little Kia
I purchased a Kia Pride 1.3i about two weeks ago and when we got her there was a rummbling noise coming from the o/s front wheel and a slight vibration, the man selling her said this was due to a lump in the tyre, i have since replaced the tyres all round along with the rear wheel bearings which were making some noise due to wear... The o/s front Cv boot is split and my partner seems to think the joint has wear in it as the noise is still there. I have my suspisions it could be a bearing as the wheel is a little wobbly but the problem is getting much worse and seems to make a louder noise when turning full lock right. I also need a boot for the driveshaft on the other side.
Has anyone else experienced this problem and more importantly, where can i buy parts for this pride, preferably second hand?So far i have tried breakers accross the country (UK) and dealers, plus ebay.. I finally managed to track down a new drive shaft but they were £490 for one side and £505 for the other side Rather scary prices since i only paid £300 for the car
i can see you are from the U.K., here in the Philippines - kia pride parts are in abundance., every corner auto supply store has a complete line of parts, from transmission to the rear shocks. if u have relatives here - maybe you can ask them to pack ur needed parts into a box and send it over.
Hi! One reason I sold my 97 Accord and bought the 99 Pride was that replacement parts were plentiful, genuine, and cheap. It wasn't always so here in Manila, but now that the factory has come to settle, genuine replacements are unbelievable reasonable compared to even Toyotas!
At the prices you quoted for those parts you can replace most of the car with original replacements and still have planefare to spare! Cheers!
hi im new to this forum, i bought a 2nd hand 95 kia pride lx and it has a rumbling noise @ 30kph and above and accelerating and if i let go of the gas pedal a vibration noise is heard, may be you could give me an advise for the said problem or where can i have my car be checked. Im from pasig.
You can get the after market boots that are split allowing you to install it without taking the drive shaft off, but it's best to remove the drive shaft and install the non-split type boot and re-grease the joints.
If the boot has been leaking for some time, the damage to the joint is certain, and re-greasing will not help in this case.
