Why not just go to an exhaust shop and have them make you one. It is a lot cheaper.

In the old days...early 80's we just asked the mechanic working in the railway line to do it for us...they had not much thing to do then and materials were available...but now just go to the exhaust shop..which is cheap...I brought back my Merc 190E G Reg to this country in 1995 and I did a welding to cover a small hole in 1997 till now no more problem with the exhaust system and still driving that old Merc from Southampton during week end.

Hi Shibby. I've sent you an e-mail but I'll also reply on here for the benefit of others. The guy in Aberdeen further up this thread mentioned the Mazda 626. After doing a Google search for "Kia Clarus" and "Mazda 626" it appears that the Clarus is based on the 626.

I phoned my local garage with this information and the mechanic said it looks identical and will order the part for a repair this weekend. Instead of having to pay the Kia dealer £250 for a middle section, my local garage has quoted me "£52.67 plus a couple of gaskets."

I'll post again at the weekend to let you know how it goes.

The Mazda 626 middle section doesn't fit my Clarus The guy at the garage says it's way too short so it looks like I'm going to have to go for a main dealer part.

Has anyone else got any other ideas? Also has the guy in Aberdeen who posted on this thread got any more information on the exhaust he fitted, even if its just the name of the garage who fitted it for him?

Hi - just wondering - did you get your exhaust issue sorted in the end? I have the same problem with my Clarus - GLX, 2000. Somebody fitted what looks like a honda exhaust in the past and its now giving trouble.

Default Got the exhaust fixed - here's how - its easy

Hi,

I had the same problem with my Kia Clarus 2.0 GLX. It was basically the centre pipe and backbox that were rotten. Part numbers 283377 and 278077 from the Advance Pitstop store catalogue (believe they're from a Mazda 626) can be made to fit. Total cost EURO 380 (approx 240 of your earth pounds).

My Kia is back purring like a Korean dictator should. :-)

Cheers
