Default Are Extended Warranties Worth It?

I am about to settle the paper work & pick up my 2008 Toyota Rav4 (4cyl Ltd) in a couple of days. My question is this: Are extended warranties and car protection packages (rust proofing, paint protection etc.) etc. worth getting? From what I have read, most books say no, - but I wanted to ask all of you directly.

Even though I sold extended warranties, I have never been a big fan of them since I do all my repair work once the warranty expires. For one it's the law of averages. Have you ever seen an insurance company loose? Yet there is a place for them depending on particular circumstances.

It's all a matter of personal perspective and piece of mind. One big issue can easily make it worthwhile.

My modem cut out before I could finish.

Many extended warranties have a provision for a pay back or partial payback if you don't use them. This would IMO be a no brainer.

Per rust proofing? Not for me.

Paint protection? Get a can of armor all or something similar and stick with a "paint maintenance" program if you will much like one should do for everything on the vehicle.

Yeah! This warranty will pay for your vehicle's covered repairs after the manufacturer's warranty has expired. If you want more about extended warranty then I would like to prefer a site called Extended Warranty Shopper: Car, Truck & Auto Warranties you can get all about extended warranty. Hope this will help you.
All the best!

We bought a four year warranty for $1600. If we don't make a claim we get $1000 cash back or the full amount as a dealer credit. It is almost silly not to buy one with those terms.

Do not got for the rustproofing/undercoating/paint protection stuff from the dealer, they are just out to gouge you. The cars are rustproofed at the factory, the undercoating is not needed and wax your paint yourself.
