Unhappy

Yeah, I know it's not a Kia, but it ain't mine so I think that makes it ok. A friend wants me to throw a replacement motor in an Olds Alero. It's a '99 or '00. I took a quick look in a Chilton book and it states that the motor and tranny are removed together from the bottom of the car. Has anyone ever yanked one out through the top or at all? A quick seven bills for the job would be nice, but I ain't going to kill myself doing it. Any info out there? If you can help, e-mail me cuz I'll get that right away versus waiting till the next time I hit the forum. Thanks.

Hello Rattlecan,

1 Fastkia is right of coarse but as you've asked nicely-------.

It can be done but I did a quick bit of research and both trany' and block must be dropped from the bottom----------------for a much, much, much easer life.
