My room here is a west-facing room, so as you can imagine, it gets a little warm in the spring/summer when the sun hits it. I finally picked up a smallish Air Conditioner yesterday - the only thing I don't like is that the swamp cooler it replaced (which I was filling with water every hour and it never really made a difference) made a noise when the water was getting low (a sucking/blurbling noise from the impeller trying to pick up water). The new AC unit makes this noise for the first 10 minutes that it's turned on, and I keep wanting to get up and fill it up with water. :P

I WISH I had a swamp cooler. With a hard line to water. Then I don't have to worry about filling the damn thing. I'd prefer the airflow of a swamp cooler to the A/C any day. But it's doing it's job - even with my computers in here.
