Unhappy

Hey everyone, just wanted to know if anyone here has LoJack installed in their Kias. I had mine installed with on a week ago and it seems fine enough.. but I was just wondering if anyone has had any problems with the E.W.D. (Early Warning Detection) which was an additional service with LoJack. My wife and I tested out the system this weekend (She drove to church WITH OUT the key pass) and was disappointed with the out come.. NO response from the E.W.D. system! I called the customer service and that was a dead end... the agent told me to retest the systems again - drive the car for 15min straight with the Key Pass and then 30 mins with out the key pass. Mind you, you NEED the key pass with you at all times. She was talking to me like it was MY FAULT! So I'll do that this weekend to see what happens. <_<

I bought lojack several years ago and put it in my Tahoe. Well the tahoe got stolen, and sure enough Lojack found my truck! Hooray!

Well no.

It took 3 days, another police department found it by accident 2 counties over.

The truck was stripped of everything removable, except, the Lojack unit. I was furious.

Well now I have a newer Tahoe, and my vette. I did NOT purchase Lojack again. I won't. I bought 2 tracking systems from www.vehiclelocate.net As an added note, some punk neighbor broke into my garage, my silent alarm in my vette went off, the system I had called my phone, told me my alarm was going off. I called the cops to send them to my house. They busted a 17 year old kid trying to hotwire my vette. This system works! Oh one more thing, I was 60 miles away from my car when the alarm got tripped. It's freakin Awesome!

67Vette thanks for the heads up on the other system. I'll look into that. I'm planning on calling lojack today to let them know about the "other" test that they told us to do.. it didn't work either.. I doubt that they will give me a refund for the EWD.. but we'll see what they WILL do.. so far I'm not very impressed, and at this time I wouldn't really put the product on my "recommend" list. BUT at the same time, since I've ONLY had the system for the past 2-3 weeks and of course the car has not been stolen, I couldn't recommend against it.

You're welcome. Good luck with getting a refund. I guess there's always Ebay

I can definitely recommend against it.

Ok so I just got off the phone with Level 1 support. I told the agent about the problem and what I've done so far,.. all that she can do is escalate the ticket to Level 2/engineering to investigate. The girl who helped me (from LA btw) told me that I'll get a call within 24 hours. So we'll see what they say tomorrow evening. I'll keep you posted!
