UVO help needed in copying discs to jukebox

I work at a Kia dealer and none of the UVO radios in the 2012 Sportage give the option to copy music files whether it is a burnt cd or a bought cd. The copy tab never comes up in any mode. Do these need a software update?

The UVO manual states you can only copy songs from an MP3 CD. And even then, depending on the music burning software, the CD may not function correctly. You might check the format of music on the burnt CD. The music files supported are .MP3 or .WMA

Customer states that it was mp3 through real player which is microsoft like the UVO system. The system recognized the artist and song and displayed it but you should be able to copy regular cd's into the virtual disc changer (5 discs) also. Can't seem to find a definitive answer on this one.

Nope, nothing stated in the manual about copying music from regular CDs, just MP3 CDs. If you figure out a way, let us know. I haven't had any customers come in asking, but you never know.

I'm currently involved in this quest and even though I was misled by the salesman that I could copy my CD's into the Jukebox, the manual clearly does not indicate that the COPY function for regular (DRM Protected) CD's is available. The same seems to apply to IPHONE/IPOD ITUNES music even though it connects via USB and it does support copying of USB Media - very confusing.
It does however say that COPY is an option for MP3 CD's. So I got a DRM removal software package, ran one of my ITUNES albums through it and ended up with MP3 files. Thought I was set. I burnt a CD with these MP3 files, poped into my UVO and lo and behold COPY was still not an option.
Not sure what more needs to be done!

I know this is an old thread, but I'll post the solution in case anyone needs it. The only thing that works is CDs comprised of data, not audio files. If you burn a CD of files you copied to a disk instead of converting them to audio files, it will work. For me, I put files from itunes into a folder and then burned that folder to a disc and it worked. Here is the link to the tutorial I used: How to make an MP3 CD | How To - CNET
The downside appears to be that you have to copy each song one by one and each one takes around 20 seconds. The Menu and Copy tabs only appear when you insert a CD that will work with it.
