Hi All ; I've recently bought my first Kia <2015 Rondo> and was quite alarmed that Kia Canada had so freely provided , < given / sold ? > , my personal information to the satelite radio industry, without my permission or knowledge. So far I have received 2 phone calls and 1 mailed solicitation - Sirius knows my name address & phone number and the car I'm driving - and I wonder about all the other marketing companies that now share this information.

Hello hubops. JT and welcome to the Kia forums.
The best thing you can do is contact your Kia customer services. with the facts.
But often when you register with any internet company or app they assume rights to your details and disclosure to others unless you check tick the correct box. And that is only for non Sirius related firms.
Just incase you have not found Number 9 is there get out clause for Sirius but you can still opt out.

as you get 3 months complimentary service, Sirius would require that to activate it. I got similar when I first bought my Soul, but eventually it all stops when they get the message you don't want it. I suppose you could call them now and cancel it and tell them you don't want it now and remove all records, I didn't bother but haven't had any calls or emails from them for a few years.

They will send you a reminder before the complimentary period ends, if you do want it let it lapse they will come back to you with way better pricing than the initial offer.

Hello conwelpic ;
Thanks for your input - but the point of my post was not related to Sirius marketing -
but rather that Kia Canada gave or sold my personal information to them -
without my knowledge or permission.

... yep - and the companies
that choose to work in the shadows -
- of the fine print ..
and continue to rely on the crutch ..
- of the fine print ..

.. risk it becoming a habit or a corporate culture ..

I hate fine print.
