This is my first post. Boy, am i glad to be able to finally find a local forum for KIA. OK, i'am driving a 2000spec Kia Sephia. Fot the past few weeks, i am facing some problems with my car:
1. When engage in D and in a standstill (traffic jam for example), the car dies off. Electrical still working, air-cond on, lights on, CD player still on but the engine dies. Very gently, no harsh vibration, no knocking at all, just suddenly dies off.
2. This happen once, the RPM goes up to 2000 when in N and did not come back down for a long time (at least 5-8,inutes). I had to switch off the engine, wait for a while, switch back on then OK.
3. This happen at least 4 times, while i was driving, the check engine light indicator lights up. I don't notice any change in engine RPM, drop in power or strange sound. Just lights up only. Switch engine off then on again, lights dissappear.
4. This is the most worrying for me. Few times while driving, constant speed (around 70kmh, bout 2500RPM), when i press the accelerator, i notice the check engine light appear suddenly and then go away. i can feel the car jerk abit thenback to normal.
Lots of question for a first timer eh?
Anybody encounter these symptoms before? How did you solve it? I read in another posting there is a Korean car specialist in Desa Tun Razak, are they good? Expansive? Most importanly, do they solve the problem?
