Default Sportage 4x4 Towing

I have a 2000 sportage 4x4 automatic trans. Can I disconnect the driveshaft from the rear wheels and have the front wheels on a car towing dolly. I would think this would not cause any damage, but I am not sure up till now I have always hauled wheels up. I now need to also transport my motorcycle which I could put on a simple front wheel up tow bar behind the sportage. I need some advice about this.

You should be ok but you would probably have to take the driveshaft right out and blank off the rear of the gearbox to stop oil escaping.

Default Driveshaft

I don't quite follow you on caping off at the rear end. I haven't looked but I get the impression it is not a standard driveshaft to rear end?
