It is possible to do a basic function test of the MAF - see the KiaTech web site "Shop" section for the detail on how and the readings you should get - see my sig for the link.
If you have difficulty finding on there let us know.

Unfortunately when I click "shop" i get a blank pop-up window. Same thing for "Service Information (SI)", "ETM", and "DTC" options. I had to search out the links in the web page source to navigate to them.

In case anyone else has that problem here's the direct links:

Service Information --> http://www.kiatechinfo.com/viewer_si/index.asp?group=si
Shop --> http://www.kiatechinfo.com/viewer/index.asp?group=shop
ETM --> http://www.kiatechinfo.com/viewer/index.asp?group=etm
DTC --> http://www.kiatechinfo.com/viewer/index.asp?group=dtc

Those links take you to the sign-in page.

Have you tried accessing the site with IE ?

The links seem to only work in IE6 and some installations of IE7 (on my fiance's laptop but not my desktop). I primarily use Firefox or Safari which doesn't render those links, only blank full screen sized pop-up windows. Just mentioning it for people who are anti-IE like myself that aren't too keen on the idea of having to use it just for certain webpages to load. I'm a firm believer it should work in every browser regardless of the designer's preference. For example this doesn't work on any of my Apple's because they don't have IE installed - only Safari and Firefox which sucks because my garage laptop is a PowerBook G4.
