a/c fan switch

have a 2001 kia sportage the fan switch will not work on #3 speed so i replaced with a new one. same problem.
any ideas would be appreciated.

Nelson,
this is most likely blower motor resistor. It is located under the glove compartment, inside the blower ducts. Easy (most of time) to replace.
Remove it, inspect for any rust, breaks... and replace if necessary.
