Question Low fuel light

Has anyone ever had a low fuel light that just stays on all the time? My does but its not real bright just enough to let you know its on. When I am running low on gas it will get bright espacialy when I hit the brakes but then it dims again. Its kind of anouing to be on all the time does anyone know how to fix this or should I just cover it with a peice of tape so I cant see it.

I can't say for sure, but it could be a sign of an electrical problem.
I have had some of my lights glow at night (brake, and so on), though they seem okay sine I replaced the battery.
I have read elsewhere that Kia's tend to have ground problems in the electrical system.
It could also be a problem in the sensor?
I've only had my warning light come on once.

Thanks, I will have to get in there and take a look I quess. I have already found one electrical problem with the transmision but that was caused more by the previose owner having it changed at a not so good transmision shop.

My daughter's '01 did this EXACTLY as you described, since she bought it (used, about a year ago). The previous owner told her about the problem before she bought the car.

After being this way for several months, one day it just fixed itself. It's been working fine since.

I suspect a loose and/or corroded wire on the sending unit. Just a guess... You might try giving it a wiggle. I think you can get at them from the cargo compartment - under the carpet. I may be wrong on that... but I seem to remember pulling the carpet back at one time and seeing an access panel. Might have been another vehicle... ??? I'm getting too old to remember details.
