Default dimmer switch

dont know about the tail lights....could be a fuse.
As far as your dash lights...if all of the fuses are good, you can fix this problem by taking the dimmer switch out and soldering the two terminals together.
If it is your dimmer switch you will notice that the radio light works, but no other dash lights at all work (including the fan and ac and temp lights in the middle console)......you just remove the dimmer switch....can be a little tough to to.
and then solder the 2 terminals that are next to each other ( not the ground) and your dimmer will be like its on high all of the time.
When you remove the dimmer switch, take the front of it off and you can then pull out the pc board....just solder the runs together there and you are done.

By the way....there is a new dimmer switch on ebay right now for 99 cents.
Just do a search for "kia sportage dimmer"

Welcome to the forum.

Try the 'ETM' section on the KiaTech web site for wiring schematics and this should help you track down the problem.
