Angry camshaft sensor for sportage

I own a 99 Sportage, up until now 98000 milesI,ve had no trouble and then I opened my big mouth, it started running rough as tho the auto choke was on, stuck it on the computer and lo and behold , a canshaft position sensor was faulty.
All well and good , but where the hell do I get one, the Kia spares seem to be a closed shop, here in Cyprus, we have a main dealer, but he operates on th sell,em and forget , em principal, I had to wait 6 weeks for a new door mirror,.

Back to the sensor, I have tried everywhere, Europe, UK, I even emailed Korea, at the only email address I could find for Kia(he was an accountant), they told me to contact a dealer in Turkey, but given the present political climate here I don,t think it would get delivered, in the end , I had to order one from the US(autobarn), that was 10 days ago, and I havn,t heard hide nor hair from then since.

Where do you get spares from I ask again, Kia don,t have a web site, well they do but only to sell new cars, no backup whatsover, my truck has been off the road for 6 weeks now and it looks like it,ll be off permanently, please help

Welcome to the forum.

What error code are you getting?

It could be that the timing belt has jumped a tooth or two, and this causes the cam sensor to go out of synch with the crank sensor. It could also be a problem with the crank cog keyway.
