Default running out of options - please help!!!

1999 sportage
cranks but will not start - tried many things picked up from this forum - thanks

- tried starting fluid
- jumped fuel pump, heard it go on
- re-grounded as per instructions in this forum
- changed fuse and relays
- changed fuel filter inside engine compartment
- with feed hose disconnected, cranked engine and gas came out

- remove and change plugs (no spark determined)
- changed wires, coils, and harness

- Changed timing belt and water pump
- Changed cam sensor
- COULDN"T get to crank sensor

Off to the dealer via tow

Called "car is ready, we put in a new crank sensor", which I expected.
We go to pick it up...won't start, supposedly the guy wiggled some wires and it started. yeah!!...wrong, drove it home 10 miles and parked it in driveway, daughter was all exited she got her car back, guess what ??????
WONT START - just as before - cranks
Towed back to dealer

wants 1200 USD to fix - needs entire wireing harness

Any sugestions or ideas

thanks in advance

tom

Find out exactly where in the harness it's bad. They should be able to tell you unless their guessing again. If it is a connector and you can get to it put your own in. You should be able to rewire it. If you don't want to do that then tell them they need to fix it for free. They diagnosed it incorrectly they should fix it. Your shouldn't pay them so that their mechanics can learn on your car. I'll get off my box now. I just get really irritated when dealers and mechanics try to take advantage of consumers. It gives a bad image to the hard working, honest ones.
