Default 97 Sportage Auto Trans Wont Shift

I Have A 97 Sportage 4wd With Auto Trans.the Check Engine,
Abs,and Air Bag Lights Are On.running In Park The Temp Gauge
Stays About Half Way.using The Power Windows, pushing The Brake Makes The Temp Gauge Rise To H.also When I Try To Drive
If I Push The Accelerator All The Way It Bogs The Engine Down
If I Let Off The Pedal It Accelerates.and The Trans Will Not Shift Out Of 1st When Driving.it Works Using The Manual Shifter Inside, low 2nd And Reverse Work.

I have a '96 and I have that problem with the shifting. If she isnt warmed up it wont shift right, so if I cant wait to let it warm up (temp guage at half) and drive she will bog and lose power, it sounds like she will blow, but once the guage reaches half way it will shift and run fine. I usually let it warm up 10 to 15 minutes, before I take off. My air bag and ABS lights have been on since I owned mine, over 2 years. I had Kia check my car out and they say there is nothing to worry about. But I would suggest just letting your car warm a bit before driving, and if you have to drive without warming up, dont push it, take it slow until the gears shift. Mine kicks in after driving about a mile. This only happens to me when I start her for the first time that day. Pamper her she will be fine>
