Unhappy Someone please HELP! HELP! HELP! ME WITH MY 99' SPORTAGE

So I am a owner of a 1999 kia sportage. When I purchased it the vehicle was used and it needed the timing belt replaced so I did the job 4 months later on an evening driving out I started the truck to go the store it starting stalling the next morning I took it over to autozone they put the diagnostics machine and it gave back no error codes the stalling continued so then it started backfiring the following day it would not start so I purchased a fuel pump from Ebay and the same problem persuaded. Next, I replaced the sparkplugs, coil packs, fuel filter and then the computer relays so I purchased a used ecu and replaced and nothing happened input the original one in and nothing happens the engine turns over and the starter gives the ewww errrrr sound as if it wants to start but it does not I finally took it to another mechanic which has now had it for 7 weeks and he has no clue what is wrong with it I have now been on public transportation for 5 months can someone please help me! I live in Chicago any repair shops recommended that will fix my truck please Thank you!

Definately find another mechanic. My wifes 97 sort of did the same thing and it was a combination of a plugged fuel filter, blocked cat and dirty injectors, hope this help.

5 months on a bus? What took you so long to ask for help?
7 weeks at a mechanic that can't find whats wrong? Find another friggin mechanic!

You sure spent alot of money on changing parts over without knowing whats wrong!

Could be a faulty Cam position sensor, or the Timing belt, yes I know you said you replaced it, but did you replace the tensioner? The belt could have slipped a tooth or eight without throwing a code. And it could also be somthing simple like, a vacuum leak (check to see if the vaccuum port on the intake manifold has a nipple on it) blocked fuel line, bad gas, sugar in the tank, blocked cat, plugged injectors, the list is endless!

You or your mechanic should check the crankshaft bolt that holds the timing belt sprocket to see if it has loosened. I bought a 99 Sportage with problems and this is what it turned out to be. The timing belt had been replaced and the bolt had loosened causing the sprocket to break the key and the keyway slot on the crank. Mine still ran but it had no power and I was getting a cam position sensor error. If this turns out to be your problem, I can tell you how to fix it. Just ask.

I had basically the same problem you got, mine is an 98 and I thought by putting in high performance spark plugs it would run better and it did for a while. Make sure you use only KIA plugs. I put KIA plugs in and bam... runs great now.
