comp codes

99 kia sportage,check engine light came on,went to auto zone and had codes read,code 1---p0440,he couldnt tell me anything about it,code2---p1115 he said it had something to do with the coolant temp sending unit but couldnt garantee it.does anybody have any ideas on what i should check or replace.i live in upstate ny and think the nearest dealer is in williston vt.
