Default HELP PLease 200 Kia sportage

I have a PO422 code, went to the local code auto shop and its a Main Catalyst Below thrshold (Bank1 ) code. In english i was told the o2 sensor

When i look at the engine i see two sensors, one closer to the engine exhaust matifold and another about 14 inches down, both before the catalick convert.

Which one do i need to change and how hard is it???? How do you get it out and then the wires, do i cut them or follow them somewhere???

Help please , my wife needs to go to work!!!!

GDS Go here, free sign up, navigate to your code and it will tell you. Those are not both 02 sensors as 02 sensors are located before and after the catalytic on the exhaust pipe. Both are the same part, cost appx 100.00, must reset the code after install via undoing both battery cables for 15 minutes. Then do not try to get an inspection right away as the car will need 2 drive cycles to restore the ECM memory.

grrrr....so many people throw o2 sensors at a catalyst problem..if there is a problem with the o2 sensor your vehicle is smart enough to tell you. the reason your vehicle sets a p0422 is if the front o2 and the 02 after the cat are switching from rich to lean at the same voltages (from 0-1v) a good catalyst will keep the rear 02 voltage well below 1v. replace the cat.
