2000 KIA Sportage - Rough Idle/Check Engine Light
2000 Kia Sportage - Automatic

Car was fine one day and the next day had Check Engine Light (flashing at first, then solid) and Rough Idle, which would subside after about 10-15 minutes. Went through several mechanics and no one could figure out what the problem was.
What was tried:
• Changed Spark Plugs
• Changed Spark Plug Wiring
• Changed MAF Sensor
• Changed Ignition Coils
NONE of these worked.
Finally consulted with two different mechanics who both conferred the problem to be internal and would cost over $1,000 to fix as it is all labor.
It was finally determined that a SPRING broke off on Cylinder 3 and needed to be replaced.
