Check this for the switch.

Could be that the blower motor is fried. I think there is also a resistor that sometimes burns out.

If it's the motor, youre going to have to take the dash aprt to get to it, while doing that it is very woth your while to replace your heater core while you are there. If in doubt so a search on the G1 fourm for 'heater core'

lol! and hope the tears don't freeze! Your lucky you live in a warm climate, how many days out of the year do you need a heater core in Oz? I would love to just by-pass it altogether but that makes for driving to work in -40c weather a real pain in the ass, and feet and hands and arms and legs etc!

In the spring, IF my core dosn't start vomiting green before then, I want to change it out with a larger core, the local rad shop can make up a decent core for a little more than a stock one costs and should never leak again, maybe a stronger motor for the fan too.

If the wipers and windows work, it is probably the blower motor. Should be <$100 from the dealer. (I know because I am trying to diagnose an electrical problem with my 98 where the heat shuts off and the wipers and windows stop working. Restart the car and all is happy.)
Any how, the resistor was around $51 and the blower was around $100.
(In my case it is neither...)

I had a sportage before, the heater wouldnt work,it just threw cold air. the dealer found that it was the fuse in the engine compartment.
