Default Sportage performance mods

Hello:

I'm curious about anyone's experiences with performance mods for their Sportages. Mine is an '02....so we're talking about the previous gen Sportages here.

I realize "performance" and "Sportage" is kinda like "jumbo shrimp"...i.e. bordering on an oxy-moron.

Anyway, I'd be interested in bolt-on parts, that is to say things that can easily be installed by a very much _not_ ASE-certified shade-tree tinkerer. FYI, I already have a K&N air-filter.

I might also be interested in a _mild_ (1 to 3 inches) lift kit for the body and/or suspension. I need to keep the car emision and bumper-height legal as this is my daily-driver/commuter so on-road drivability and fuel economy are definite factors.

Thanks,

There is a company that makes a chip upgrade:

www.powerchipgroup.com

Also worthwhile doing is to replace the radiator fan with an electric one.

There are relatively straightforward ways of doing a lift using spacers or new springs.

More ("hardcore") details at:
