It could be a number of things such as a bad O2 sensor, Throttle Position Sensor, Idle Speed Control valve, or stuck open Exhuast Gas Recirculation vlave, so it's best to take it to a parts store that will connect a code reader and identify the error code stored in the ECU, which hopefully will clearly identify the problem.
Most parts shops will do the code reading free.
