Talking Does the 2011 Soul have a theft alarm

I just bought a 2011 Soul a few weeks ago and assumed it has a theft alarm but have been questioning it. I keep reading that the Souls have a security system that will not allow anyone to drive without the original key, so is that the only alarm system they have.

Hi, the Soul does NOT come with a standard alarm system, only a panic alarm, I fought tooth and nail with the dealer because I thought the salesperson had been misleading, it did no good, I had to take the car it to an alarm specialist and get a full alarm system fitted. $500.00. Be careful the Soul has a unusual ignition pulse system, and I had some bad experiences before I found a firm that had the tech savvy to fit one.
regards Peter

The "chip" keys depend on what country you live in. USA does NOT come with sentry (chip) keys. Where do you live?

welcome, that's why its important to fill out your Location and Drives profile as vehicles are not equipped the same worldwide.

Canadian models with remote keyless entry have an immobilizer chip in them that unless the vehicle recognized the key it will not start.

It is also advisable to use both sets of keys for the vehicle regularly because of the chip technology.
Try it.
Good way to see if you have a problem with one key or the other.
Same applies to remote start.

Cheers. GotSoul.
