Sadley you and Pstn have been hanging out too long. As was suggested in the other thread READ TECH TIMES KT2007052207. It does not say what you think or say it does. You are totally WRONG, as it tells everyone jsut what I said in my post. Since we are in the Sorento Forum I can see where you might get confused reading it. And forget their are other vechs on the road other then a Sorento. But fact remains.
FWD chassis auto trans as WELL AS the 5spd auto's use SpcIII form 1996 on (Sedona/Veracruz/Azera/Optima/Sonata) for those reading impaired. As well as other Hyundai corp vechs with the FWD 5spd auto trans.
RWD chassis 4spd auto trans use DEXIII. The SORENTO! with 3.5L 2002-2005 mid year
RWD chassis 5spd auto trans use RED-1. The SORENTO! with 3.8L and 3.3L 2005 mid year-on to date
And I bet the NEW Genisis RWD chassis 3.3 V6 5spd. As well as the new RWD chassis Borrago 3.8 V6 5spd. Will use RED-1 too. The 3.8 V6 Aisin 6spd in the Genesis might as well. Thou that is up in the air with no data yet released to public. As is the data for the newer still 4.6V8 6spd sourced form ZF. Which is almost for sure not going to use SPIII nor RED1. ZF tends to go with DexIII. But nothing is in stone till it all hits the pavement.
Put SpcIII in a 2005-on 5spd auto Sorento and BUY A TRANS!. Plain and simple. Its not brain surgury. READ THE CHART.
