Default Throttle sensor problems??

I have a 2006 Sorento ex. It is now sitting at the dealership. I took it in because it suddenly would only go 30mph. I pulled off the road after almost being run over by other drivers on the interstate and turned off engine. Once it was restarted it ran fine. This is the third time I bring it in for the same problem. First time, changed throttle position sensor. Second time, April 2008, changed same part. This time, the computer doesn't find anything wrong with it and dealer can't reproduce problem. Therefore, they want me to take car home. Does anyone have any ideas on what could be wrong? I AM NOT putting by children back into this car unless they fix it.

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Can you duplicate the problem at any time? If so take the sevice writer out and do it. If not, if they "fixed" it once and it still does it I would think they are obligated to continue working on it till it's fixed correctly. Anybody can throw parts at it and hope they get it right. A real diagnostician will work on it till it's done. Not to many of those gifted people around any more.

what is a diagnostician i thik you just mean technician. but you are right if they dont see a problem and it acts normal when it is in the shop then there is nothing they can do about it unless there is a saved code. without the code there is nothing they can do

You cannot find a fault unless it exists at the time you are testing ....has it gone into a limp home mode ??? May not be engine could be transmission...input and output speed sensors not agreeing ..drive it around and round near the dealership and phone them when it happens and drive it straight there ....

+1 if it does it then take it to the dealership immediatly, it may be inconveinent to you but it may be the only way to get it fixed

it could be a speed sensor on the transmission, it mite have to be replaced. When it only goes to 30mph does it rev high or does it seem normal but just won't go over the 30mph??
