Unhappy Paint Job

The paint job on my 2006 is HORRIBLE. Black with white primer. I swear that falling snow scratches the paint. ANyone konow of a good cleaner wax, polish, scratch remover, etc. that can make this look half way decent.

Default Paint Protection

I also noticed it that KIA Paint jobs are not good so i had mine treated with Ziebart and had it covered with their Diamond Gloss product.

Ziebart International :: Protection :: Diamond Gloss

It not only protects the paint from chemicals and wear but also give the car that smooth glass finish for years.

Cost me about $350 but worth every cent.

Did it on my old car and never had to repaint it during the 15 years i had it.

Sounds great and I will consider it, but how do I get rid of a the small scratches first?

Default A couple less than good solutions..........

1. The Ziebart/Diamond gloss thing is a sham....was uncovered years ago by consumer agencies. I fell for it as well in 1980, but back then there was a hell of lot more paint on the cars than now. It's nothing more than a glorified buff and polish job.

2. 3m makes a product, a clear plastic especially for hoods, bunpers and areas that are frequently hit, think it's called chipguard. Google it and see what it is.

3. I found this product and am still experimenting with it. I have just recently purchased another asian car and this seems to be an emerging problem super thin, brittle paint. Go to Dr. ColorChip fool-proof auto touch up paint kit for chip repair on your car- BMW,Porsche,Ford,Honda,Mercedes,Lexus,Toyota...mos t color codes. This could be the closest thing to repainting.

4. Lottsa Luck....

Go to your nearest Ziebart Dealer and ask them to show you how it's done and what goes into doing the job, dont just read about it from market driven consumer groups or agencies.

Like i said, i have personally had it done on all my cars and have never repainted any of my cars.

Oh! and about the touch-up kit, dont even attempt it, believe me you will regret it.

Your car, your decision.
