Just wondering, I just joined this forum. I have a 2003 Sorento with 97.000KM's on it, not miles and was wondering so far I've only had some minor electrical issues like head lights and tail lights, catalic converter all that have been warrantied I may add. I pull a 4*8 trailer with a ATV and camping gear enough and I've also pulled heavy materials. and so far its been amazing, just hard on gas for my liking.
My question is this, does anyone have say 200-250K on one without any major issue's? I'm wondering if I should trade it before the warranty is up at 100K and get more money for it as the dealer says or will it keep going strong. Part of me thinks that 03 being the first year for the Sorento they over built it to prove they were worthy and had everything to gain by doing so.
My 03 has 100,000 Mi on it. Sucked a butterfly screw from #5 cyl, driveshaft replaced, coolant tank, a couple of diodes, 2 batteries,(after the last battery no more bulb problems, one set of plugs, brakes, a timing belt. Considering it was a heavily used family car I am very happy with it. Untill they figure out the problems with the newer ones i'll keep this one.
Okay, when did your timing belt go, also did it do any damage to the vehicle when it went. And your in miles so that would be about 160km's for me, and your still going strong, good to hear. BTW, I forgot they changed my coolant tank also as it cracked.
I've pulled heavy loads and been on really rough roads with mine so I wonder if the dam thing will go soon, as its warrantied untill 100K for me, they said if it goes before that I'm covered. Anyway of making it go early???
31,000 miles on my 05. Only thing I've replaced is the battery. Runs just as good as the day I bought it. I get regular scheduled services done.
I had 107,000 miles on my 2000 Sportage when I sold it. Had all the regular services done at miles/months requirements. The only thing I replaced in all those miles were the battery, one oxygen sensor, & tires. RELAX, YOU HAVE A GREAT CAR. ENJOY IT. Take care of it and it will last a long time. KIA's are tuff vehicles.
My 03 has 78,000 miles on it. Replaced timing belt at 60k, sparkplugs at 60k, tranny and differential service at every 30k and replaced coolant tank at about 70k. Seat belt buckle at about 68k. Disconnected the butterfly vacuum tank and had crank bolt replaced under recall. I still like the car.
have 91,000+ miles on my 2006, only problem were 3 head lights, 1 rear brake light, diode and 2 cruise control pc boards. giving it a regular oil change every 7,000 miles and knock on wood, still running good...
My 2006 Sorento is about to turn over 100k km. Im trying to find a dealer to change the timing belt. There seems to be a range from 4-7 hours depending on which one you talk to for this job. Other than this, only problems(all fixed under warranty) were dome light switch, shifter knob fell off(manual tranny),windshield wiper motor, and sticky throttle. Its been a great rig and since I travel 1.5 hours each way on my commute to work I plan on finding out how many miles you can put on one of these.
91,000 miles on a 2006, you do some serious driving.
WOW!!!
i have a 2005 and when i took it in to get the old changed a couple of months ago it had a little over 32,000 miles on it and i thought that was too much!
the girl that takes the info when you pull in to the shop asked me if i ever drive my truck anywhere! i asked her why and she said she could not believe how that was all the miles it had been driven. i told her my husband bought it for me as a christmas gift and being a stay-at-home mom with my own biz i don't have to worry about driving all over to get back and forth to work every day. it is just for my pleasure and errands.
