From KIA TECH, TSB dated 4/4/07

This bulletin provides information related to the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) for Sorento & Sedona models. Some Sorento & Sedona vehicles may exhibit diagnostic trouble codes P0121, P0122 and/or P1121, P0700. This condition mainly occurs in high ambient or desert areas, and can be related to the occasional increase in contact resistance due to excessive wear of the inner elements of the TP sensor. This bulletin describes the proper service and adjustment procedure for replacing the TP Sensor.

Thought you'd like to know that Kia contacted me today concerning the email I sent them about my concern for the crankshaft bolt. They told me that they weren't aware of any problems with it on the 2005 model. He said that they had recalls on the 2003 & 2004 models and it was redesigned for the 2005 on up models. Interesting.....

Great - just got mine out of the workshop after 2 weeks for the driveline thump which they thought might have been caused by the TPS - which was replaced at the same time. Now you say it has to go back for the crank bolt recall.

cheers

so Pistn - why is the fact it is a demonstrator make a difference - if it is a recall and it is affected then it needs changing - dont understand your comment? Also just got off the phone to my Kia dealer - thre is a crank bolt recall as you said but it doesn't affect all Sorento years and models - my 04 EX is not one of the affected ones. Apparently this recall has been out for a while also.

Thanks for the heads up though - I wouldn't of known if you hadn't of mentioned it.

cheers
