Default Gas mileage

The best I have ever gotten was 22mpg. I have a turbo device in the intake and a KN air filter. Took it on a 3000 mile trip last Oct and ave. 19.5mpg at 70-75 mph. I am going to try a hydrogen generator on it next.

I have seen an increase by keeping my tires at about 38 psi, kumhos 798, using a K&N filter, and by using Mobil 1 5W-30 synthetic. I have also been using the Lucas Complete Fuel System additive, maybe about 4 ounces a tank, not very much, and my mileage has improved a good jag.

I've had my Sorento for 2 years and the best mileage I have ever got was 24 MPG (Imperial) or 21 MPG US Gallon.

That was on a trip from Ontario to Florida using Premium and loaded to the gills with 4 passengers, the cargo area loaded to the top and a cargo box on the roof rack also stuffed with holiday crap.

I had the tire pressures set to 40 PSI and I was gassing up every 500-550 km (350 miles or so).

My mileage has been pretty steady over that time. Premium gas is the way to go as you do get better mileage and with the cheap gas prices in the US you should all be buying premium instead of regular.

You have to figue that at the most you will pay is $5 more with premium only costing $.20/gallon extra. Here in Canada it's $.20/litre or $.75/gallon and I still will use it over regular for this reason. It cost me an extra $8.00 per fill up and just is better gas and worth the extra dollars.

Have to agree with Dman on the 24mpg (Imperial) best. But at 32psi (UK spec is 35psi) so maybe I could squeeze out a little more if I wanted a bone-shaker ride. I don't drive around town very much, I know mileage is worse when I do. 35mpg is unbelievable for a V6 imho. (and even diesels struggle to get that in UK).

Ditto. I have an 05 w/ 15k, with a K/N and usually ~ 12-14mpg city. Best ever was ~20 mpg.
Seriously thinking about ditching it for something else! Too bad

Here are the numbers i came up with in the amount of time i have owned my truck.

2006 V6 EX - US Gallons - 87 Octane

Stock Truck:
15.47 Avg MPG (City) - Average calculated after numerous fill-ups

K&N Air Filter Added:
16.35 Avg MPG (City) - Average calculated after numerous fill-ups

Switched to M1 Full Synthetic:
16.5 Avg MPG (City) - Average calculated after only 3 fill-ups so far.

All of that is with the wife driving. I just don't see how you can get much higher numbers. Maybe its an elevation thing with the thinner vs. thicker air?

I have a 2006 EX with 1700 miles on it, In march I took a fishing trip, drove 250 miles non stop at speeds of 65-70, I got 15 mpg. Yesterday I filled the tank after 2 weeks of stop and go driving, mileage was 12 mpg. I love the truck, no problems, I knew the gas mileage would not be great, but didn't think it would be this bad. Thankfully I'm retired and don't drive that much.

Default Gas Milage

I have an 03 with 82000 mi. Use a K + N filter. Tried the Tornado. When going back and forth to Prescott Valley (700+ miles RT)it made no difference in fuel economy compared to the previous trips. If the Sorento had a fuel injected TB the the tornado might work but since the TB is for air metering only and the injectors are at the intake it really should have no affect on the mixture.(IMHO). The intown MPG is 15 to 17 and the open highway MPG is around 20 to 22. The best i've ever got was 25. That was tires inflated and the wife was driving. Her driving style is a little different than mine.
