Talking Message for Schnauzer

I asked Schnauzer if he could comment on this thread http://www.kia-forums.com/kia-sorent...highlight=beep. His reply was the following:-

“Hi Ciccio, I am not a tech. Some other brands use the same belt design and manufacturer. Japanese. I am unaware of it being a defect although not liked by some. Ask again next week please when I am with a engineer.”

So on 12-10-2006, I mailed Schnauzer, and re-asked the question. My response was “Schnauzer has chosen not to receive private messages or may not be allowed to receive private messages. Therefore you may not send your message to him/her.”

Now what? Is this the approach Kia take when they know there’s a problem.

Come on Schnauzer come out, come out wherever you are.

Beep Beep (thats the seat belt alarm)

Engineering says it is a design function and is not a defect in the belt design.

I have far too many people wanting my attention at times and had to close down some access but I do read the posts most of the time. If you need to reach me do as Ciccio and flag me down. Please be understanding. I am Korean based although I fly in and out of several markets regularly with the U.S. a main stop for several months now. Kia pays my salary, my loyalty is with Kia at all times but learning of good and bad experiences is helpful to the company. Do not expect me to answer everything posted. I do not have the time. Sorry, but I still do care just the same. May you all enjoy Christmas and the New Year. Thank you!

Schnauzer, I have also been unable to reach you regarding your previous post in my thread (you were going to look into questionable customer service matters for me).

Thanks! I really appreciate your help in this.

OF COURSE it is a defect. Either designing or manufacturing. This is not the way an aural warning should EVER work. Tell your engineering to reconsider their opinion.

OF COURSE IT IS NOT A DEFECT. The belt design and sensor design are from the largest Japanese seat belt company that supplies to most of the Asian brands and many European brands. It was the Japanese engineers who backed up the design as being not defective with our engineers. Considering how the various safety organizations (including governmental) jump on issues like these and HAVE NOT found problems with the belt systems being used in millions of vehicles globally. Have your dealer once again go over your issues and be sure to duplicate what you are saying is wrong. Check other models to see how their systems work. If there is a design change needed, then please recommend it. Thanks.

Default Use common sense

Even if the system is designed by the God Himself the system is FAULTY.
This is not the way a warning system should perform. So I don't really care who designed it, how many of them are on the market (I think none with this behaviour) , how many organizations certified it etc etc.

After all its against common sense!!!!

I would also blame ROLEX if they design and manufacture a battery alarm clock for which to stop the alarm buzzer after you wake up is not enough to set buzzer switch to OFF but you have also to remove and reinsert the battery!!!

Of course you have the right to consider this "normal" (especially if it is a ROLEX!) as well as you have the right to consider "normal" this Sorento behaviour.

I will not fight with you on this!

Regarding this: "....If there is a design change needed, then please recommend it.....", I would like to notice that if you can suggest me a "communication channel" with KIA for this kind of recommendations I would be very pleased to do it.

Best regards

Merry Christmas

Default wishes

Thanks for the address but I would prefer a European location address, since I am a European customer. And it would be more convenient to me if I had an e-mail or fax of them.

I would like to notice (to avoid any misunderstandings) that I own a Sorento since 2004 and I (still!) love it.

Have a nice trip, enjoy your stayment there!

Best wishes for the Christmas and the New Year!

He is on trip back to Korea and asked me to check forum for him should there need follow up like yours. I am his administrative assistant for US. Do not expect replies for days now since I will not be available to check things.
