Default and the BEEP goes on.....(seat belt)

Just to start on the right note, I say again, I love my Sorrento.

Now, the way it’s supposed to function is, if I have no seat belt on, the alarm will warm me, so I take notice, and engage the seat belt. At this the alarm should stop, as I’ve corrected the problem. The fact that it’s intermittent, and I have to power down the engine to clear the beeping (reboot the computer) makes it a fault, and even if its designed by whomever, then it’s a design fault. Even the A-brands have design faults.

Mr Schnauzer or KIA, in an earlier response stated “Engineering says it is a design function and is not a defect in the belt design” is KIA willing to put this in Black and white. My dealer actually said it was a “ghost fault”, and that there was no cure “just one of those things they said.”……………..GREAT SERVICE aftersales of course.

My vehicle is under warranty, and as this is a fault from birth, I could follow this issue 6 years down the line as “not fit for purpose”. Of course nobody wants to waste time and energy doing this, all I want is for KIA to release its mod, and correct the problem…..You’re in denial.

What if all the forum users with this fault put together a collective grievance would KIA have to take notice then??

Once again, I was a Jaguar owner, and moved to a Sorento…………………………to date I’ve not missed my jag at all. I’d recommend a Kia Sorrento any day (I’ve got two KIA’a), against my x-type Jag.
