Here's a thought - if you bought your car without a remote does it even have remote central locking capability fitted?

My mother in law has an 04 Kia Optima SE. Both fobs worked until she changed the batteries in them. Can this reset them? Somehow one started working again by itself. I've tried the procedures on here to reprogram the other, but they don't seem to give any results. Is there something I have to do differently? Thanks

I own a 2003 Sorento EX and I am new to the site.
Thanks gee6 for the info. The remote programming works perfect.

Question 07 Sorento

Hey everyone new here,

Do those instructions also work on the 07 models? I recently purchased a used sorento and the dealer quoted me 140 for fob and programming, so I ordered 2 fobs off ebay and would like to know how to program them.

Thanx in advance,

I think you need to remove the "S" from http(S) otherwise the page won't load

Sedona 2003 to 2005 are supposed to be terminals 12 and 16 jumpered. I got one off Ebay and the instruction sheet said to jump these terminals however I pushed the button while sitting inside the vehicle. Now I know you have to be outside the vehicle and press the lock button 2 time to program it. I hope this helps someone.

Thumbs up Here's what worked for me and my 2005.

I tried the instructions kwalkman gave, but didn't work. After a bit more research, I found www.sorentosite.com . They have a DIY section dedicated to just this issue. Their instructions were different, different layout of the terminals, and different jumper locations. I followed those instructions and voila, I now have 2 remotes that function completely. Sorentosite, I love you
