Thumbs up

Hi there,
Have any members got locked out of their Sorento while the keys are inside the vehicle? This has happened to me on three different occassions now, the first two times the keys were on the centre console and I presumed the lock button on the remote must have got knocked in some way. But on the last occassion I had the Sorento sitting in the driveway with the enginge was running and when I returned the doors had locked with no visible reason. Any ideas ???

Think alarm is set to self lock if you unlock but don't turn ignition on within X amount of time, but never heard of one locking whilst engine is running <_<

I would suggest that you'd check the speedsensor which tells autodoorlock when you reach 40km/h if it happens again.

[i][font=Optima][color=blue]Thanks folks,
The Sorento is booked in next week for a check on an oil leak so I will ask them about the speed sensor, though I am not sure that european models are equipped with the auto doorlock feature when the vehicle reaches 40km/p/h.
It definitely locks again if you disarm from the remote then don't open a door within 30 seconds. My mate has an Audi A3 and on it the doors will not lock if there is a key inside the vehicle, pity we didn't have the same system.
I think I will get another key cut and hide it somewhere on the vehicle so I can get access if it hapens again.

If you get a key cut, do not have it programmed!
At least then should it be discovered by some low life, all they can do is access the car, they won;t be able to start it.

Thanks,
I have a mate who has a locksmiths so he said he can get a blank and cut it without programming. Think this is the best remedy as last time I got locked out I was 40 miles from home and had to get someone to do the round trip and get the spare keys.
